Artist Profile: Christine Guanipa, Little Man Originals

Little Man is a family run business dedicated to creating uncommon originals that combine fun, function, and design. Every piece in our collection is a limited production and is designed and created in our Massachusetts studio. Each piece is handcrafted from design to final stitch, separating us from the market of mass production. Our fabric accessories also offer a happy alternative to leather and plastic.

Artist Profile: Kim Gonzaga, Stella Marie Soap Company

Stella Marie Soap Company was founded by Providence-based soapmaker, Kim Gonzaga in 2007 out of a desire to merge artistic expression with a passion for the bath. Drawing on inspiration from punk rock, pop culture, baseball and feminism, she created a line of fun but highly beneficial bath and body products made with natural ingredients.

Her mission is to produce fresh, skin-nourishing products of the highest possible quality in an environmentally responsible manner while offering an exciting alternative to the mainstream.

Artist Profile: Karissa Chase

A true blue Aussie, Karissa Chase traded her sunny skies for snowstorms after meeting her Rhode Island hubby online. Previously a full time potter, punk and crazy cat lady; she is now a work-a-holic, clutter bug Mummy who divides her days between pottery and playdoh. With a variety of styles to suit everyone, her work is simple yet striking in a classic contemporary style.

Darlene Belisle (http://www.ursulaandolive.etsy.com) of Ursula And Olive is a big geek! Yes, you heard her – a geek and she’s proud of it! Darlene has been a lifelong crafter with a serious case of crafting ADD. She loves learning new skills and making crafts with them. With all her different interests a few themes always remain constant -- her love of reading, recycling and anything geeky. She tries to incorporate those in everything she does.

Artist Profile: Pam Laurenzo, Black Sheep Designs

Pam Laurenzo (Black Sheep Designs) has been creating unique jewelry for 12 years. Her work features unusual vintage glass and Lucite beads, mixed with various metals (sterling silver, steel, copper, brass) and found objects. She enjoys creating pieces that have appealing color combinations and visual texture - jewelry that's simple enough for everyday, but striking enough for special occasions. Pam resides in Danielson, CT, with her husband Jay and three children.

Artist Profile: Deb Hickey

Deb Hickey is a photographer who has been living and working in Providence since 2003. She is currently doing a series of photographic collages based on Providence architecture.

Hickey combines photographs with collage, paint and encaustic medium to create miniature art.
She is a graduate of The Art Institute of Boston with a BFA in photography.

At LuckyBird Studio, all of my products are handmade with love and care and a neurotic attention to detail and quality. I incorporate an array of ingredients into my work {including but not limited to} base-metals, paper, resin, plastic, wood, glass, hardware and vintage bits and pieces.

Few of the components used in my work have intrinsic value, worth comes from how pieces are recombined, reconfigured and reborn.
